Being vegan is really easy when you live in NYC because there are so many places you can go to eat. And since I like eating out a lot, I have a couple of places I like going to for specific reasons. The best part is when I take my family or friends; they can’t believe the food is all vegan because it tastes so good.
(Tomato, Basil, Cashew Mozzarella with Shiitake Bacon Pizza from Double Zero)
Here are the places I enjoy going (depending on what I’m in the mood for):
–By Chloe: Pretty much everything here is good, but when I am in the mood for a classic burger and air baked french fries or a quinoa taco salad, I come here! Don’t forget to try By Chloe Sweets, especially the gluten-free chocolate chip cookies.
–Juice Press: Carries a range of cold pressed organic juices (which are always great when you are on the go) and perfect if you want to do a juice cleanse. They also have a range of raw food such as salads, ravioli, falafel, etc.
–Candle Cafe: Has a great menu with all different types of appetizers and mains, that would have you second guessing if everything is vegan.I highly recommend the fried avocado tacos and their tres leches for dessert, which you can find in the upper east side location.
–Double Zero: When it comes to Double Zero, the only two things I can think about are PIZZA and their delicious cheese platter. If you are a pizza lover, this is the place for you.
–Beyond Sushi: Yup, you guessed it, this is where I come for sushi! Everything on their menu from the sushi rolls to their dumplings are all 100% vegan. –VSPOT: The place to go for Latin comfort food. Their empanadas are amazing.
